Mohammed Istanbooli

Mohammed Istanbooli leads our team at Wadi Dawkah. He is from Salalah, the beautiful Omani city nestled between the Dhofari mountains and the Indian Ocean. Mohammed oversees all farming activity at Wadi Dawkah: caring for and cherishing our frankincense trees, harvesting the resin, and forming and training our team.

Ghanem Jaddad

Ghanem Jaddad plays an essential role by linking Omani skills, capabilities, communities, and organizations with our efforts at Wadi Dawkah. His extended family have been inextricably linked with Wadi Dawkah's trees for generations. Ghanem now lives in the local town of Thumrait which in ancient times was a key route on the frankincense trail.

The two creative visionaries shared an artistic passion and aesthetic approach rooted in radical boldness, individual uniqueness and diversity.

Our team

Our Omani team continues Oman’s cultural legacy of harvesting frankincense trees. Wadi Dawkah is revitalising an ancient tradition, providing long-term employment opportunities for the local community, and safeguarding these ancient practices for future generations.
